Hee should stop making silly statements

I find it hard to believe that Selangor State exco for tourism, environment, green technology and Orang Asli affairs, Hee Loy Sian could make such a statement that "Bukit Lagong quarrying won't affect Orang Asli."

            I quote:

“These approvals were made taking into consideration not just the demand for stones in the effort to develop Selangor, but also sustainability, reducing environmental impact, controlling the production rate of stone materials, and reducing congestion on production road."

If I were not wrong, this  is the impact of only two operating quarries in the area, but now, under Amirudin and his predessor, 28 quarry mini-licenses have been issued.

What a great eco-tourism spot this is!

Not only did former FRIM director-general Salleh Mohd Nor say that "quarries that will come up in the Bukit Lagong Forest Reserve will undermine the Forest Research Institute’s (FRIM’s) efforts to apply for the zone to be a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) World Heritage Site," but the Orang Asli themselves have expressed their concerns.

Hee must have heard the proverbial Malay saying, `Harapkan Pegar, Pegar Makan Padi.' We voted you and your party hoping that you will protect the interest of the people; instead, you have disappointed us.
You will pay heftily in the coming election.  Your turn will come; meanwhile, your colleagues in PH are also being criticised for not doing much to put a stop to what is happening to the forest reserve -- to the point that I am even wondering whether I should even vote for Pakatan Harapan, when you and your colleagues cannot even solve problems on the ground
This makes me wonder whether the portfolios he is carrying --in fact, such a mouthful list of portfolios -- was coincidental or premeditated since he is in charge of both environment and Orang Asli affairs.

Hee had made an earlier comment which I thought was simply bizarre.

Apparently, Hee does not understand his role as state exco in charge of the environment. When the trees are felled in a forest reserve to give way to the quarries, it is no longer `forest reserve.' The entire habitat would be wiped off and it will take many years before the land can be rehabilitated into forest reserve again.

Therefore, I wonder if Hee even understood his role as state exco. I know people are trying to promote eco-tourism, but what kind of tourism can a quarry provide to the tourists except for the frequent explosions?

I rest my case. In fact, we are waiting for the Menteri Besar of Selangor Amirudin Shari to respond to the press himself, seeing that as Menteri Besar, land matter is his responsibility -- something which he cannot anyhow delegate to his goons.
