SURAT TERBUKA KEPADA YB MENTERI BESAR SELANGOR

Pandai betul Majlis Perbandaran Selayang.  Pengarah  Jabatan Penilaian & Pengurusan Hartanah  (JPPH) MPS yang terlibat harus digantung kerja atas kegagalan untuk menyampaikan notis yang bertarikh 1hb April 2024. Tarikh tempoh untuk bantahan berakhir semalam, dan sekarang ini, tarikh dipanjangkan ke akhir bulan Mei. Tapi ramai di kalangan penduduk di bawah Perbandaran Selayang, termasuk saya, tidak memahami alasan-alasan bantahan yang boleh dipilih. Adakah borang maklumbalas ini direka dengan sengaja untuk menunjukkan yang tidak ramai yang membantah atas kenaikan cukai taksiran? Saya tertanya-tanya kenapa pagi Sabtu ini ada posman yang datang ke setiap rumah menggunakan motosikal Pos Malaysia untuk mengirim surat. KAWASAN PARLIMEN Kepong di bawah mantan ahli parlimen YB Dr Tan Seng Giaw memberi sebab saya telah menyokong DAP sejak 1988 lagi, tapi kebelakangan ini, kerana dua orang ahli parlimen Kawasan Damansara, sokongan saya terutama kepada Pakatan Harapan di negeri Selangor sudah sampai ke tahap paling rendah.  Sebelum ini, Tony Pua. Sekarang Gobind Singh Deo. Walaupun pada mulanya saya cuba menyokongnya, tetapi nampak jelas selepas setahun lebih, Gobind bukannya seorang yang cuba membantu menyelesaikan masalah.  Dalam perbincangan saya dengan seorang editor, saya diberitahu semasa Gobind menjadi Ahli Parlimen Puchong sama sahaja.  Sebagai seorang ahli parlimen, dia langsung tidak tahu masalah sebuah sekolah di Puchong yang tiada kerusi meja untuk anak-anak sekolah. Editor ini memberitahu bahawa masalah ini hanya baru ditangani oleh YB Yeo Bee Yin yang sekarang menjadi ahli parlimen Puchong. Terimakasih YB Yeo.   I have always thought that YB Rajiv Rishyakaran is a good state assemblyman. Although a constituent and journalist friend of mine used to complain about him, I defended him.  But not now. After over a month I highlighted to him about a dangerous corner like this, I am just as disappointed with the lackadaisical attitude that I see. It looks like after two or three terms as elected representatives, these state assemblymen lose their motivation to serve the people. I do not even live in Petaling Jaya but I noticed many of then blindspots created by landscaping people from local councils.  After more than a month, I noticed nothing is done to rectify the problem which is well with Rajiv’s constituency. This is my little contribution to help improve the quality of life for his constituents who have to bear with such blind spots.   In Selangor, it is like the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing.  Back in 2008, then state exco in charge of the environment Elizabeth Wong was gung-ho about banning the use of polystyrene food containers used by hawkers.  Most people welcome this new initiative. A more environmental friendly food container was introduced. However, Wong sthopped short of introducing a policy to control the use of polystyrene containers used to keep fish fresh during transportation.  This is despite the fact that both containers used for hawker food and the fish mongers are made from the same material.  The lack of a comprehensive policy is what makes the early initiatives by Wong a failure today. IN our community chat group, we received a report on Feb 12, 2024 from a resident saying that part of the slope beside Jalan Puri, the road leading to Perdana Puri and Damai Puri at Desa Aman Puri had collapsed.  Only One Access Road No thanks to the Townplanners at Majlis Perbandaran Selayang, there is ONLY ONE ACCESS ROAD to both housing developments on the hilltop. Naturally, the residents were concerned that if nothing is done to fix the damage, the whole slope may collapse and cut off the access road.  No emergency vehicle will be able to enter into the area should there be an emergency. The townplanners who approved the project in the past should be made responsible for this oversight.
