SELANGORKINI: SURAT TERBUKA KEPADA YB MENTERI BESAR SELANGOR

            Longkang tersumbat sudahpun diketahui oleh pihak penduduk dan Majlis Perbandaran Selayang lebih kurang bulan September tahun ini (2022) apabila dinding runtuh dekat sini menyebabkan beberapa rumah dibanjiri air.           Mengikut jiran saya, saya difahamkan bahawa ada barang keras di bawah simen yang dibina di atas longkang. Apa yang diberitahu saya adalah barang keras ini kemungkinan dari simen yang runtuh atau struktur kayu reput di bawah simen.           Ini mungkin menyebabkan sisa-sisa daun kering yang tersangkut dan air melimpah keluar dari longkang ini sehingga memasuki rumah penduduk.               Saya juga difahamkan bahawa sebelum ini pihak KDEB pun sudah cuba menggunakan jet air untuk membersihkan longkang di bawah kontrit simen yang dibina oleh pihak Persatuan Penduduk lebih kurang 10 tahun lalu.       ...

  Oleh Stephen Ng  Saya ingin mencadangkan kepada Yang Berhormat Menteri Dalam Negeri   Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution bin Ismail    untuk menggantikan pengawal sekuriti secara berperingkat dengan pegawai polis ataupun askar. Ini memandangkan keperluan untuk mengurangkan ​pekerja asing sebagai pengawal sekuriti di bangunan-bangunan komersial dan kawasan-kawasan perumahan.  Penggunaan pengawal asing bermakna wang negara ini akan keluar ke negara-negara lain.   I remember some 20 years ago, Dr Tan Seng Giaw used to tell me that it is not the Member of Parliament's responsibilty to peek into clogged drains and other public amenities.                Yet, without fail, the Kepong MP would faithfully come to the ground to see for himself the complaint, big or small. This was part of his weekly schedule of meeting the people on matters that affected them.  Local Government's Failure                While Dr Tan and I (MP and voter) agreed that looking at clogged drains should be the job of the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), we all know the reality on the ground -- the local government throughout the whole country has failed miserably.                  I can say that at the very least, Penang seems to havve gotten it right.  Well, at least on one aspect -- cleanliness of the island!  ...

I choose to write this piece, especially because of the recent announcement by Damansara MP, Tony Pua why he would not be contesting in Damansara.                     If he did not bow out, he knew that many of the constituents would go out to vote or even campaign against him.   Goodbye Tony Pua!           In politics, you will learn that you  won't get very far when you choose to ignore your voters who voted you. Never think that you are "the best" MP in town.           Now, your pride has also brought you to a downfall. I hope it is hard hitting enough for you to feel the pain, but not to break your spirit. As long as you learn to be humble, we may consider giving you a second chance, but it is very unlikely that people will want you anymore.            We will see how Gobind performs on the ground to solve issues affecting the constituents. If he puts in more DAP goons as councillors, and when they misbehave or fail to carry out their job, and Gobind gives a deaf ear to complaints like you did, even Gobind son of Karpal Singh will also be trounced.
